Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions from clients, investors, partners and candidates.
For Clients
How long does project development take?
Timelines vary by project complexity and sector. Simple concept validation may take 4-8 weeks, while full feasibility studies and investment preparation can take 6-18 months. We provide realistic timelines after the initial Gate 0 screening.
What are your fees?
We work on different commercial models depending on the service and project stage: fixed fees for defined deliverables, milestone fees tied to development gates, retainers for ongoing advisory, and in some cases success-based components. We discuss fee structures transparently after understanding your project.
What documents do I need to provide?
At Gate 0, we need basic information: project concept, location, sector, capital requirement and sponsor background. As we advance through the gates, additional documents are needed (technical studies, market data, financial information, permits). We provide a clear checklist at each stage.
Do you work with projects outside Ghana?
Yes. While we are based in Ghana, we work on projects across West Africa and the continent. Our focus is on sectors where we have expertise and where we can add real value.
What makes PDC different from a consultancy?
A consultancy advises and leaves. PDC stays accountable for moving a project to a financed, operating asset. We carry projects through concept validation, structuring, financing and execution management, with the same institution maintaining continuity and accountability throughout.
For Investors
What deal flow do you have?
We source and develop projects across infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, logistics, technology, urban development and circular economy. Projects that pass our gates are presented to our network of DFIs, banks, pension funds, insurance companies and private capital providers.
How do you source projects?
Projects come through multiple channels: government agencies, corporate sponsors, entrepreneurs, partner firms and our own sector intelligence. Every project is screened at Gate 0 before we allocate development resources.
What is your investment philosophy?
We focus on bankable, investment-ready projects that can answer a financier's hardest questions. We apply rigorous technical, commercial and legal testing, and we only advance projects that meet institutional standards.
Do you take equity in projects?
In some cases, we may take development equity or project equity where commercially appropriate and legally permissible. This is decided case-by-case based on project structure and commercial model.
For Partners
How do you select partners?
We select partners based on technical capability, track record, financial capacity and alignment with our standards. Technical partners undergo due diligence on qualifications, experience and references. Financial partners are evaluated based on investment criteria and risk appetite.
What types of projects do you work on?
We work on serious projects with credible sponsors, clear economic rationale and achievable implementation paths. Our sectors are infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, logistics, technology, urban development and circular economy.
How can my firm register as a partner?
Register through the Partners page on our website. We review registrations and contact firms when relevant opportunities arise. All partnerships are subject to due diligence and commercial agreement.
For Candidates
What is the culture at PDC?
We are building an institution, not just a company. Our culture is disciplined, evidence-based and accountable. We value technical integrity, independent professional judgement and proper documentation. We are in this for the long term.
What growth opportunities exist?
As PDC grows, opportunities will emerge across our nine divisions: Executive Office, Project Development, Technical, Finance & Commercial, Legal & Regulatory Risk, Project Management, Investment & Partnerships, Digital & Data, and Corporate Services. We promote from within where possible.
How do I apply?
View open roles on our Careers page and apply through the form. You can also send your profile for our records even if no specific role is currently advertised. We review all applications and contact candidates when relevant opportunities arise.
